Because He Reminds Me of My Father

If you ever wonder why I’m willing to ride a roller coaster of emotion with him, well here’s some clues.

Throughout my school years (up until I’m in the fifth form), I have this belief towards committing into relationship; I don’t need one. I have my daddy. I have my mommy. And I have my sisters to annoy and my friends to hang out with. That’s it. That is all I ever need.

Then, when I am about to enter my matriculation college, my dad sent me off with one very powerful advice, A man who loves a woman will ask for her hands in marriage. Other than that, it is not more than just another version of bullseeet.

And me, being a very obedient daughter as always, believe his words. In fact, I still do believe in that. My principles are written around those words. So, what have changed, you may ask?

I met a vast types of guys as I grow up. And although I try my best not to stereotype, I always end up making one general idea after another. I do believe that not every guy is the same. And I also believe that, they may take different route, but the orbit is still the same. Hehe. Anyway, I’ve met the shy ones, the brave ones, the empty vessels, the loud speakers, the brains, the brainless and the list would go on and on.

Unconsciously, I start to develop another list - the wish list of the traits that a man HAS to posses before I can start dating him. And yes, you guess it right. I crossed out one guy after another when he fails to score in my wish list.

After a while, I realized that the wish list is never an issue. I’ve met guys that have almost perfect score, but I hardly glance at them. And it isn’t a matter of good look as well. They may get me glancing at them, twice or thrice but I can assure you that the glances do not last more than 10 seconds.

Because in the end of the day, it goes straight down through your throat and stop at your heart. There. The heart. The heart is where everything matters.

What about him that makes me go crazy? He is not more than just a normal acquaintance when we first know each other. Then, things well, get clicked. And we get closer. Then is when I start to know him. Bit by bit. And the way he treats me- let me just put it this way; I found his acts are very masculine. He completes me in a way that I start to realize that I do (like any other people in the entire universe) have missing pieces. He is hard to be interpreted but easy to be read. And he reminds me of my father. He cares about my heart. He cares about my health. He cares about aurat and my solah. Just like what my father always does.

My best friend used to ask me, what is it that you see in him? And I will answer, not his look. Not his wealth. Not his brain. But his charm, that is what keeps me going. And the mystery, that is what keeps me wondering. Haha. Cheesy right? I myself can’t believe that I said that.

So, I am more than willing to ride the roller coaster, feel the thrill, feel sick and feel excited just because he is the one who broke the wall that once used to be a fort in my heart. He is the only one guy (apart from my daddy) that I will never say NO to.

Everything - Lifehouse

I. JUST. LOVE. THIS. SONG.

And oh, this is meant for you, Encik Boyfriend.

My 10's on Sleeping

1* Sleepiness makes you feel like taking a day off. Leaving the warm bed is definitely the last thing that you want to do. MC can simply be gained by faking an illness (I was considering about eye infection or maybe migraine) OR well, some ‘other’ methods. Don’t get me wrong. I’m not suggesting anything here.

2* Sleepiness reduces your ability to answer impromptu questions. The most ideal way to get away from being questioned is by pretending to be reading something. Or (if that doesn’t work), you can fake a headache. But before you do any of the above suggestions, you have to make sure that u left some paper scattered on your table. If you have pills or any other medication, then it is a bonus. These should give the please-leave-me-alone-because-i-am-trying-to-do-some-thinking-here signs.

3* Never actually try to read something. NEVER! You will fall asleep before you can even read the second line. And of course, you will hardly make sense of what you have read in the first line.

4* Avoid people who love to brag about themselves, obsess with something/someone, and have deep personal issues as well as sleepyheads. They will only drag you further down into the lalaland.

5* Try to look around and see what other sleepyheads are doing. Are they doing the exact thing that you are doing right now? Their uneasiness and restless behavior can somehow provide you entertainment that you desperately need to keep your eyes wide open. And, of course, you can sharpen on your human analysis skills as well!

6* You will always ALWAYS determine to sleep earlier tonight but believe me, you will never be able to do that. There is always something to distract you from actually doing that. Like having to get something done, wanting to watch live telecast of some sport events, catching a re-run episode of a soap drama and blah blah blah.

7* Staring at the clock every 30 seconds is your must-do routine. You will later discover that time freezing does exist!

8* There is no such thing as ideal time to feel sleepy. The sleepiness is always there, like a passive virus, waiting to be activated whenever the condition is conducive enough.

9* You will try to figure out the most appropriate sleeping pose. Anything would do as long as nobody catches you sleeping.

10* Before you start sleeping soundly, you will first start to imagine things that you have always wanted to buy or places that you have been dreaming to go. And then, the vision will get clearer and clearer and you begin to think that it is becoming reality. Well, at least, it is until you are suddenly wakened up by the sound of the door being closed.

And there goes my 10 random facts that come to my in head in no particular order.

The only reason why I wrote this near-to-useless list is because…

I AM SLEEPY AS WELL! xD

Ouch!

We were having our normal not-so-late-night conversation. And suddenly, I had this strong urge to make him jog his memory on our very first date together.

me : Do you still remember what I wore on our first date?
him : Black jubah (abaya) with no make up on.
me : Wow!
him : Yeah.. and you were wearing that flowery black flats of yours.
me : *flattered* You remember!
him : Of course. I could even remember the veins on your feet.
me : Err.. You looked at those too?
him : Yeah, you covered your aurat perfectly well except those feet.
me : Err.. err.. ouch!
him : *laughed* Those are aurat too, Sayang.
me : Aite, I'll put the socks on (more often) next time.

For the zillionth times, I fall in love with him. Again. And again.

Ten Qualities of A Magnificent Man

I have this shared on my Facebook but seeing how hard it would be for me to retrieve this piece again in the future, I am going to re-post it here in my blog.

So, as the title reads, here are the
ten things that you have to look for in a man. If he possesses all of these ten traits, InsyaAllah, he will turn out to be the best husband for you. So, ladies (especially the ones who are still searching) and guys (here are your guidelines), take note of these and may Allah bless us with marriage that will last until jannah. Amin. ;)

According to Prof. Dr. Baltaji in his book entitled 'Fiqh al-Marah', there are ten characteristics that a man should possess in his quest to be the best husband for his wife.

They are :
  1. Able to imam the solahs. A husband who is capable of imam-ing solahs is said to be capable of leading his marriage.
  2. Educate his wife on deen which includes fiqh, tauhid and al-Quran.
  3. Matured.
  4. Responsible.
  5. Independent
  6. Firm and has his own stand and vivid principles.
  7. Protect his wife and kids.
  8. An all-rounder.
  9. Able to recite al-Quran
  10. His presence is never a nuisance for others.
So, ladies, if you happen to bump into a man with all of these qualities, wait no longer. He is the perfect fit for you.

And guys, how well do you score in this check list? If you don't perform well enough, there are still time to improve yourself. These are the perfection that we ladies look for in a man.

Idioms #1

BAD APPLE

A bad apple is a person who is bad and makes others bad.

e.g:

What a bad apple Jean is. I can't believe she influenced Marie to shoplift for her.

Field Trip Numero Uno

These were taken at Sri Tujoh Beach, Tumpat. Not much, I know. The rest of the pictures are still stored in my dslr's memory and till my sister have them all transferred to her laptop, these three four images would do.

The pictures were snapped using my Samsung SII and I used the Camera 360 application, HDR effect.

The pictures will speak for themselves. ;D I am too lazy to type anything. Gah!

Nap-less

Nap-less Thursday.
A quite-early Friday.
Thanks for my excessive eagerness to get a new layout for this blog.

As I ventured into teaching, I have developed this little habit in which I will require a nap-time every single teaching day, which normally begins at 3.45 pm and ends around 4.45 pm - 5.15pm (could be more depending on how exhausted my mental is). This phase provides me with the rejuvenation needed for my body, mental and soul.

And my normal routines also includes me getting extra sleep on the mornings of my weekends and school holidays as I am desperate to compensate my lack of daily doses of sleep.

Anyhow, magic happened today (and yesterday) as the blog layout pointed its wand towards me and put me under the GetANewLayoutAndMakeSureItIsNotOverCuteButNotTooSerious spell. Petrified, I headed to Google headquarters, hoping to find a solution.

At the headquarters, I was further petrified as I was given a wide range of choices that I started to think that maybe it would be much better (and easier) for me to just use the default one. Yeah, I'm lying. That thought never crossed my mind. ;p

Hence, after going through several series of trial-and-error and much deliberation, I decided to go with this black theme. It does look great, ain't it? (You have to agree on this no matter what.) ;p

Enjoy the show!

The (Crooking) Cooking Project - Preface

I admit that my repertoire in cooking (and baking) is quite limited. But I am looking forward to expand the list as the weekends approach. I have been excited about cooking and baking these past few weeks that even my dad noticed it. My very first victory which later led to more and more attempts of cooking and baking was my (now) famous red velvet cake.

Yea, I know. It didn't look promising, ain't it? Even my boyfriend didn't comment much as I sent this picture to him (That is his way of disagreeing). But to my great surprise, everyone who ate it (my dad, mom and sisters) thought that it was brilliant. In the beginning, I refused to accept their compliments believing that they were just saying to keep my morale from going down to the bottom. But after tasting it, I had to concur with them. It DID taste heaven! Aite, I was exaggerating. It was surprisingly way much better than I thought it would turn out to be.

Actually, the plan to bake the cake was made several months earlier. However, seeing that I am an established procrastinator, I had to put this project on hold for several times. But after receiving a vast numbers of complaints that my ears could no longer take it, I decided to finally execute this plan. I had to re-shop for some of the ingredients as they were either had been consumed by the fridge or had expired. With the help of my little sister, I finally managed to cross this off of my to-do list.

Triumph is sweet. My success in conquering my laziness and counter-attacking it with a magnificent end product didn't stop there. I keep on trying my luck with different recipes. To date, I had managed to bake my very own pavlova, blueberry muffins and several red velvets. Not much, I know but I am very happy with the progress. I wasn't much of a cooker back then but now I am improving myself. Yay for me!

More cooking/baking projects coming up real soon. I am thinking about making the chocolate layer cake but my boyfriend demanded me to experiment on making my own ice cream. I can't quite decide what would be my project for this weekends, but I'm sure that it would be great.

Until then, here are something for your eyes. ;p

Hoyhoy

I have merely 10 minutes to compose an entry in this deserted blog of mine. My mental is about to be tortured, shortly.

For the umpteenth times, I try to actually have a blog, a place that I hope can be filled with my overflowing thoughts. But just like the old times, I can't seem to find the strong will to remain stagnant to this idea. I can't figure out the underlying reasons behind this but I am thinking about putting the blame on time. Oh yeah baby timey. You are going to be blame. Again.

Aite, I am not going to lie. This time around, I am a bit ethusiastic in making this long-lost wish of mine comes true. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Please do the same too.

The time is almost up. I need to rush to the loo and do some touch-up. I look like a sweating zombie.

Good bye!
